The
Gift of Friendship How
do we experience friendship? Are the relationships we establish with other
people of a lasting nature? Is it possible to unwrap this gift so that we
are unafraid to offer the Gift of God's Friendship to everyone we meet.
Do we understand that God's Friendship is unconditional and that we are
the visible humanity of Christ in the world actively spreading his friendship
and love.The Gift of God's Word This provides an opportunity to explore the meaning of God's Word for us. One of the greatest obstacles to our progress in life is fear. God, through His inspired written word shows us the way to overcome the fear in our lives which prevents us from attaining that personal growth which we all strive for, "God is love and he who abides in love, abides in God and God in him." John 1 vs. 4-16 "Perfect love casts out all fear." The Gift of Prayer By unwrapping this gift in our life we come to a new awareness of the presence of God and through that awareness we are impowered to reach out even to those people who seem to reject us in so many ways. Through unwrapping this gift we come to a new sense of our own strength as individuals and the important part we play in being true instruments of peace and love. The Gift of Praise To cultivate a spirit of praise and thanksgiving in our hearts is in fact a necessary step if we wish to grow and develop as a person. Dale Carnegie expresses it in his book. "How to Win Friends & Influence People". He said there are three things that we should never do and called them the three C's, we should never use in our relationship with other people - never criticize, never condemn, never complain. In coming to a new awareness of the importance of praise in our lives, we discover a new sense of wholeness and self-worth. Communication Gifts Speaking: Are you afraid to speak out? Are you uncomfortable in a crowd of people? If you are confronted with something that isn't right, do you have the courage to speak a word of truth? Through the unwrapping of the Gift of Speaking you become aware that you are a person who has a gift to share and as such you become a source of light and power.  Listening:
Do you listen attentively when others are speaking to you or do you wait
anxiously to speak what is on your mind as soon as they finish? Are you
afraid of being alone or in a quiet place? Listening is a gift which brings
about a new sense of self-worth, a new sense of the power and presence
of God with us, a new sense of the role we are to play in bringing peace
to a troubled world. It is a gift that must be unwrapped carefully and
with much thought if we are to continue to grow in the knowledge of ourselves
and the importance of our being. Understanding: No communication takes place unless understanding is created. Through unwrapping this gift you reach a new level of consciousness. Past hurts will lose their sting and present hurts will seem unimportant in view of the dignity you freely receive. The Gift of Reconciliation Do you find yourself struggling with the feeling of unworthiness? (Poor self image). In the darkness that surrounds you, do you look for the light or do you curse that darkness? Poor self image results in all too many wasted lives. If through your self criticicism you deny the world the gift of yourself, you have indeed created a vacuum that will never be filled. Through unwrapping this gift of Reconciliation you will truly become a new person, a person who has been set free. The Gift of The Spirit How many of us claim to be Christian and yet through our words and actions deny that the Spirit of God lives within us. What is the Spirit of God? It is the perfect gift that God sent to dwell in our hearts for all time. How do we unwrap this gift? How does it become a source of strength which leads us to new capabilities, draws us into new relationships and leads us to new achievements? Come taste and see that the Lord is good! The Gift of Self God wants to work through us. He is calling each of us to prepare ourselves for service. He is counting on you to share His final victory. The image of Christ becomes visible in you when through your union with Him you become unafraid to live, unafraid to die. Come experience the Dynamics of Christian Living! Dynamics of Christian Living Seminar  The purpose of the Seminar is two-fold: (1) To re-affirm the God-given dignity and worth of each individual, and (2) To create a new awareness of the power of God's presence in us and with us. Why would this Seminar be beneficial to you? In today's world of rapidly changing communication technology and confronted with the tremendous problems that exist within our society, particularly in inter-personal relationships, we need to take the necessary steps to prepare ourselves for the future so that we will not be overwhelmed by the different problems we are confronted with on a day to day basis. In addition to reinforcing and improving our communication skills, this Seminar is designed to bring you to a greater understanding of the power and presence of God's presence in your life. This is accomplished by each of the participants sharing with one another their faith, their problems and their joy of living out the Christian experience. It is for all who participate an opportunity to increase their appreciation for their own self worth and therefore to share on a one to one basis the unique gift of their own life with others they meet along the way. This is best summed up in the words of a recent graduate: "I didn't know what I wanted to get out of the seminar when I signed up for it; now that it is over I am much more aware of the beautiful gifts we have been given and am sure this will have an impact on my everyday life."
